Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Floatplan (“we”, “us”) collects when you use floatplanhq.com and the Floatplan app, how we use it, and the choices you have. Floatplan is currently in private beta.
Information we collect
- Account details — your name and email address when you create an account.
- Trip content you create — boats, crew names and travel details, routes, provisioning, expenses, messages, polls, ideas and notes you and your crew add to a trip.
- Usage & device data — basic analytics about how the site is used (pages viewed, referring source, approximate location, device/browser), collected to improve the product.
How we use it
- To provide the planner and keep your trips available to your crew.
- To operate, secure, debug and improve the service.
- To understand which features are used and where the product can be better.
- To contact you about your account or important service changes.
Cookies & analytics
We use Google Analytics 4to understand site traffic and improve the product. It sets cookies and processes usage data on our behalf; see Google’s privacy resources for details. We do not sell your personal information. A cookie-consent control for visitors in regions that require one is on our pre-launch checklist.
Service providers we share data with
We rely on a small number of trusted processors to run Floatplan:
- Supabase — authentication and database (stores your account and trip data).
- Anthropic — powers the AI Skipper; your question and a short trip summary are sent to generate an answer. We never send passwords or other crews’ data.
- Google Analytics — usage analytics, as above.
- Open-Meteo & Mapbox — weather forecasts and map tiles (no personal data sent).
- Our hosting provider, which processes requests to serve the site.
Data retention
We keep your account and trip data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
Your choices & rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your information by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. You can also use browser controls or analytics opt-outs to limit tracking.
Children
Floatplan is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product grows; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
